On Launching an Online Store
Our online Store is live!
It’s amusing to me that…
We’ve launched an online Store!
I knew we’d have one eventually, but it wasn’t something I was looking to do this soon. I prefer giving people the opportunity to touch and play with our products before purchasing. But things happen and needs arise, so here we are.
As of writing, we only have our Switch Bag collection for sale (again, not part of the original plan). In an attempt to spare some time, I’m reposting what I’ve said about this product on social media:
These one-of-a-kind reversible bags sport two complementary fabrics and a handy welt pocket on each side. Have two events in one day? Just Switch which side you’re showing off and you’re good to go. At around 7x12 inches, they’re big enough to hold your daily essentials—including that similarly named handheld gaming system—but small enough that they won’t eat your keys. Secure it closed by slipping the longer loop through the shorter loop, or wear it open for more accessibility by sliding your arm through both loops.
Q&A
Will you be selling other Inanna products online?
That’s the plan! We have a bunch of cloaks, skirts, pants, and even shorts ready to go. Like the bags, these are all one of a kind and, as such, I’ve made them to fit a range of sizes. But I still need to photograph them all and create a measurement guide for each to help you determine if it’ll fit you properly. Oh and I have to build out all of the product pages 😮💨.
Is there an option for local pickup instead of shipping?
I’ve gone back and forth on this but have decided against it for now. There are a number of reasons for this, but ultimately I’m uncomfortable with people coming to my home workshop to pick up items, and I haven’t the bandwidth to work with individual customers to set up a time and place for pickup.
Why are a few items discounted?
Short answer: I’m not perfect. The discounted items have a mistake, a stitch error of some kind, that I cannot abide by. Maybe the average person won’t notice it, but it bothers me enough that I feel the need to reduce the price.
Sewing can be wild, or wildly frustrating, especially when you have ADHD. One moment, I am as focused as can be and everything is going smoothly. The next thing I know, the fabric has drifted under the machine and I realize I’ve been thinking about lunch for last minute or so. I try to fix mistakes when I find them, but sometimes it’s not possible.
What’s with the quirky item names?
What’s wrong with quirky!?
Given that each item is unique, they each require a unique name. But who has time to sit around and think up cool, original names for each product!? To make it simpler, I tried to make the names somewhat descriptive of the item—and that often ended up being the first words that came to mind, ha.
Be well,
Joey
